I take long graceful strides
As flittering golden leaves
Pile on the knotted roots
Of spiraling husks that provide a
Diminishing shadow from the everbeating fire
That sits up high in sky's cradle
Hear the chirps of the nesting brood
As they prepare for the long cold
White snowy nights that come
After the trees' hourglass
Hits its final moments
Tiny creatures scurry back
To their holes finding warmth
With the ones they love
The final leaf litters the ground
And the sounds turn silent
Until the sitting fluffy clouds reveal
Beds of flowers bloom and
Warmth returns to the scene
Renewing the life seen before
As the cycle continues
Now and forever.

Winter
It doesn't snow here
Sandy ground, tourist filled beaches
Only the humid orange sun
No freezing your piggy toes
In calf high leather boots
No crunch on the ice taking in your footsteps
Then stomped off
On that snow smitten welcome mat
Where the trees change
By the days of each season
The brisk fireplace inside
Where the logs burn
We share this moment
Cuddled together in silence
With that one blanket shared
We sipped our hot chocolate
Burning our tongues
But we knew we were safe and warm
Inside our humble home
Now that I'm warm though
I want to spend more
Of those cold nights
Alongside the ones I love
Because if I Freeze
Ill know I'll be stuck onto you.
